The kids at Willowra were excited when biles were handed out at School.
Sarah Harrison writes:
"We handed out some of the Bibles yesterday. The kids were delighted and couldn’t wait to get home to show their families. Many of them were reading them and discussing the pictures.
They were very happy with their Bibles.
They also loved the book that Kelly made with her class. We are going through reading it with the kids. They all said that we have green grass like them."

Central Australia comes to Sydney!
The Senior class from the school at Willowra spent the last week exploring a very foreign land known as Sydney. WOW! What an experience for them.
So many things that we take for granted were either new experiences for them or even completely unknown prior to their visit. Imagine never having ridden and escalator or elevator before, or looking up at high rise buildings while traffic is everywhere.
Ten of our senior students spend the day with them on Friday (16 Nov.) at Taronga Zoo. What a great time of connecting and sharing (even singing together "In the Jungle"). We gave every child in the school a personalised Bible. They were so excited

The team
are back from China and the reports are so positive from all perspectives.
Fantastic effort from everyone in the team: Erin, Chris, Amberly, Stefan, Emily
Sara-Jayne, Chloe, Mrs Tantalos and Mrs Gray.
The team really worked together well in the orphanages, with patience and understanding. Lots of babies got cuddles at Hidden Treasures!
At Mercy
Fields there was a visitor from America who said that his church needs to learn how to do
mission trips and ministry like our MACC teams (he was visiting China during
our last trip also). He is absolutely amazed at the pro-activeness, generosity
and servant hearts of our teams (the students).
Continue
to pray for our team as they take on board their experiences and for the
communities that MACC impact.
Pray also
for those (yet unknown) who will be part of the team in 2013.

Missions Day was a great success raising over $4000.
These moneys will contribute to projects in China associated with our school trip there very soon, A Compassion Project, Bibles for the children at Willowra in Central Australia and Operation Christmas Child. A great effort everyone.
The China Missions Team had off during the holidays. Please pray for safety and that this will be a time of impact and blessing.
In looking at supporting a Compassion Project with the Missions Day money it has been decided to contribute to the recovery program in the Philippines following the recent Typhoon. Some details from the Compassion website are below. It is great for MACC to be able to help out Compassion children and Projects.
On Monday 6 August, the Compassion Philippines office, as well as local schools, universities and government and private offices, were closed due to the flooding. The floods have affected communication, electricity and municipal services. Some areas are still underwater.
Compassion staff, and registered children and their families, are in urgent need of your help.
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” — Acts 20:35 (NIV)

An estimated 800 registered children are thought to have been affected by the flooding, but the full extent of damage is not yet known. Turbid waters, chest-high in some areas, have made it too dangerous for Compassion staff to compile an accurate report.

- Replacement clothing, school supplies and household items; supplies a family needs for earning income; continued counselling and support.

Team preparation for the China trip in September got into full swing yesterday with a focus on Leadership, team membership and being prepared spritually.
The students are excited about what God might have in store for them. Their desire is to give something of themselves to those who need a touch from God.
Pray for the team as it is gearing up to go.

In the July holidays a team from the College went on a
College mission trip to Mozambique. We went to help out Iris Ministries who
among other things run a Children’s Centre catering for about 300 children in
the capital city, Maputo. We spent the majority of our time at the Centre
working with the children.
Our team, Josh Stevenson, Liam Dawson, Kaitlyn Furze,
Bernadette Luces and Mrs Murphy enjoyed a very busy trip. They were regularly
found playing with the babies, making new friends and helping out where they
could. It was a blessing to take such a fine team on this mission trip.
We were able to take with us over a $1000 in fundraising
money. We asked that some of the money be used to buy toys for the 5 – 10 years
old boys’ dormitory as a lot of the toys we found there were broken. We also took with us over 100 bibs for the
Baby House.
We were truly blessed to be able to experience the wildlife
of Africa in Kruger National Park. Although we didn’t see lions this year we
did find the elusive leopard.
We all made many new friends on our trip and I am sure,
although we may never meet them again, they will always be in our hearts.
Unfortunately, our trip to Central Australia for this year has had to be cancelled. We are all upset and disappointed about this but the decision needed to be made.
We are believing for 2013!
We are looking at ways to stay connected with the community at Willowra. If you have any good ideas, please share them with us.

Visited the remote Central Australian settlement of Willowra last week. The plan is to take a team there in September to serve in the school and community. I hope these photos give a taste of what it is like out there. The place is isolated but beautiful. The children are gorgeous.

Mozambique: The team is well on the way to being prepared for their adventure in Africa.
Please be praying for them as the time to depart is getting very close (late June).
Pray that God will use them mightily while they are there.
Pray that they will be blessed just as they are being a blessing to others.
Pray for the Leaders: Ms Everett and Mrs Murphy.

1. China: late in September, led by Mrs Gray
and
2. Central Australia (proposed) to an Indigenous Community, led by Mr Sales
Application forms were taken and students are asked to return these ASAP.
Any other interested student should see Mrs Gray or Mr Sales for Application forms.
