Bali - Here we come!

Final training has been completed and the Team is ready to head off to Bali on 13 December. Matt and Chris have tickets in hand and are putting finishing touches on songs and games.

A full program has been planned with four main connections. The team will serve:

The Great Wall has been Conquered!

The team of 13 students (from Years 8-11) and 2 teachers returned last week from a successful visit to China.

Yes we: climbed the Wall, (went up in a gondola actually and came down a 2.5km long toboggan)
visited Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City
saw the Pandas at the Zoo

But we also spent lots of time with children in orphanages, homes and special schools to share with them in a very special way. Many of the children were severely disabled but were able to give as much joy as we were able to give them.

Some of us helped out by cleaning toys, picking up rubbish, weeding pathways and washing windows. All of us met people who challenged and inspired us.

Who will go to China in 2014?

Central Australia - done and dusted!

What an eye and heart opening experience was had by all in our adventre to an extremely remote community in the Northern Territory. A little bit of tourism action to Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge was followed by a week of serving the community at the Willowra School.
Our students were challenged, encouraged and inspired. They were tremendous in the way they served.

The Adventure Begins!

Our College's first trip to Central Australia got underway today with some very excited people. A quick flight followed by a road trip to Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge has laid the platform for   A busy week in extremely remote Willowra.

Keep us in your prayers!!!

Excited adventurers set off on the first ever MACC mission trip to Central Australia. An interesting flight which included an encouraging God made connection for Miss Winnning and another passenger from The Netherlands was followed by a road trip to witness some of God's wonderful creation at Standley Chasm and Ormiston Gorge.

Today we venture into the focus of the trip at Willowra, an extremely remote Indigenous community about 4 hours NW of Alice Springs.

Pray for God's blessing on our travels and time in Willowra.

The Countdown is on!

Many people have September 7 marked in bold on their calendar as the countdown to the Federal Election continues. For a group of our students, the same date is marked for a very different reason: Day one of the Mission trip to Central Australia.

Jessica, Priscilla & Kamryn along with Miss Winning and myself will be heading to the centre of Australia to spend time serving the community of Willowra. Please pray for them that this will be a time to grow and mature and be blessed as they serve.

On the 19th of September a somewhat larger group head off to China to serve in orphanages and children's home in 2 cities (Fuzhou and Beijing). They are giving up much of their holidays sharing of themselves in very different situations. This team includes: Stefan, Daniel, Phoebe, Isabella, Liam, Dakota, Joel, Joshua, T. J., Olivia, Alannah, Caragh, Nicholas and will be led again by Mrs Gray with Mr Sales.

All these students are willingly sacrificing time and money to serve others and bring a blessing. I am sure that with your prayerful support, they will in turn be blessed.

The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.  Proverbs 11:25 (Message Bible)

2013 Trip Update!!

There has been a lot of interest shown by students in this year's trips. Many are not able to go this year for a variety of reasons. However we have:
  •  one of the largest teams ever going to China (Fuzhou and Beijing) in late September
  • a team going to Central Australia in early September, for the first time ever
  • a team going to Bali for the first time after school finishes in December
Please be praying for these trips as organisational details are finalised and teams spend time in training for a wonderful and challenging experience. More specific details and prayer points will be available in the lead up to each trip.

UPDATE !!!

1.
A fabulous result for Missions Day last Thursday. Around $6000 was raised to help support projects in needy areas. The priority for these funds is to support worthwhile projects. None of these funds are used for the benefit of students going on Mission trips.

WELL DONE everyone, for making this day such a success. We are blessed to be part of this great College community.

2.
It has been decided to give students in Years 7&8 the opportunity to apply to go on Mission trips this year. This is an exciting opportunity for some students who will obviously need to be mature enough to deal with the experiences on these trips. The team selection process will be important (as it is every year) to ensure a good balance.

Missions Day 2013

Missions Day 2013 - A wonderful day and a great success with STACKS groups doing a fantastic job in organising activities.

Students had their hair and nails coloured, ate cake lollypops and fairyfloss. They attacked each other in the sponge skirmish and bought books and surfboard necklaceds.

In the wrap-up assembly we heard how being involved in MACC missions trips changed her perspective on life.

With a number of students planning to go on trips in 2013, it is important to get applications in asap. (see me to get a form).

Wednesday 6 March 2013

An information Night for 2013 trips will be held on Tuesday 19th March at 7.00pm

Monday 18 February 2013

Excitement is starting to build for this Year's trips. Almost 40 students took 'interest' forms at this morning's assembly.

I will be in M16 at lunchtime today and tomorrow to chat about the trips and answer questions. Let's pray for God's leading for all students considering being part of these teams.

Please pray also for clear confirmation and approval from Willowra for our Central Australia trip.
